Job Description

Position Title: Housing Development Assistant

Status: Part-Time

Position Summary:

 

The Construction Development Assistant will work with the Housing Development Manager on all Real Estate Development construction projects from the beginning to the end of each project.


Principal Functions:

  • Assist in the identification and acquisition of new housing projects/properties for entry into the organization’s development pipeline.

  • Assist in developing a timeline for building contractors to adhere to and ensure all constructions projects are completed within the set timeline.

  • Review all invoices for approval from design professional, building contractors, sub- contractors, and suppliers in a timely fashion.

  • Perform on-site inspections for all current ICHDE construction projects on a regular/as needed basis until completion; provide recorded documentation of these inspections in the form of reports and photographs.

  • Review, identify and summarize the key components of funding grants.

  • Assist with homeowner annual compliance obligations for retention agreements tied to grant funding.


Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Organization and time management skills

  • Timely response to requests for information, services, and assistance.

  • Demonstrates a positive and productive attitude.

  • Access to a vehicle to visit construction sites daily; must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.

  • Possess the comprehensive knowledge to create and understand budgets.

  • Possess demonstrated technical competency in Microsoft Office products

Education and Experience:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the above duties in a timely fashion.

  • Minimum of five years’ experience as a project manager in residential construction.

  • Post-secondary education, college degree with certification in a construction-related field is preferred.
