58 Years, 58 Donors: Wrapping Up Do More 24 Delaware 2026
The marathon is over, the coffee has finally worn off, and our hearts are full. We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who stood with Interfaith Community Housing of Delaware (ICHDE) during Do More 24 Delaware 2026!
This year was special for us. As we celebrate 58 years of serving Delaware, we set a clear, simple goal: find 58 donors to give $58 each. It was a campaign about community, growth, and ensuring that every Delawarean has a safe, stable place to call home.
Good Vibes at the Chancery Market
One of the highlights of the 24-hour event was our appearance at the Chancery Market in Wilmington. Our very own Catherine Davis and LaTaysha Harmon sat down in the “Good Vibes Only Lounge” to share the ICHDE story with the rest of the state.
During the livestream, Catherine and LaTaysha highlighted why this work matters more than ever:
-
A Legacy of Service: Catherine noted that while ICHDE has been working in the background for 58 years, the current housing crisis means it’s time to get our mission front and center.
-
More Than Just Houses: We don’t just build homes; we manage seven affordable rental projects and run a HomeOwnership Center that provides the credit counseling and education needed to turn renters into homeowners.
-
Building Community: LaTaysha shared info on her department’s community engagement programs. This includes our Fourth Friday food giveaways serving more than 150 families, senior outreach at Sacred Heart Village, and our vital youth mentorship program at the Hicks Anderson Community Center.
The Power of “58”
Our Do More 24 fundraiser page became a hub of generosity. While the “unofficial” tally saw us raising over $1,350 from 21 unique donors, the impact of those gifts goes far beyond the dollar amount. Every donation of $58 helps us provide life-changing services, from character education for youth to senior wellness programs and sustainable housing development.
We are so proud to be part of a state that raised over $2.5 million for nonprofits in just 24 hours. Being a “sister” organization to so many other hard-working Delaware nonprofits reminds us that we are all in this together.
It’s Not Too Late to Join the Story
If you missed the 24-hour fundraiser, don’t worry! Our mission to revitalize neighborhoods and empower residents doesn’t stop when the clock hits 6:00 PM. You can still:
-
Give Today: Help us reach that goal of 58 new donors for our 58th year.
-
Volunteer: Join Latia’s team in our community-building efforts.
-
Spread the Word: Follow us on social media and share the work we’re doing in Wilmington, Dover, and across the state.
Thank you for helping us Do More for Delaware families. Here’s to the next 58 years of strengthening our neighborhoods, one home at a time!
